Harvard Without the Campus Is No Longer The Harvard

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

An example would be the collection of out of the box thinkers residing in Wyoming in 2021 or groups on LinkedIn. Is the quality of instruction at Harvard significantly better than at non-elite institutions?

Maybe We Don't Want A Revolution

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

Among the dreams is the ranch in Wyoming. " … the United States, all of a sudden, is in a revolutionary moment."  "  Daniel Henniger, The Wall Street Journal , July 1, 2020. Normal is a distant memory. And, for many of us, a good one.

The Big Apple - We All Know What Happens to Irrelevant Brands.

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

The fantasy is not buying a lux condo on the UES but a ranch in Wyoming.  Even before COVID-19 shut down the commercial sector and halted night life and tourism, the Big Apple was losing brand equity. Its value had started to be diminished by digital everything. A  A kid in the midwest with a good eye for fashion and social network know-how could have as much influence as those who sat on their thrones in Manhattan.

Smart, Well Dressed Teenagers - Our Future is in Good Hands

Dahle Communication

We are divided into 2 separate districts - with a few schools in the Western part of the state competing against Wyoming teams. This coming weekend is a pretty big weekend for a lot of students in the Rushmore District of the National Forensics League. It is the tournament that determines who gets to go to the National Debate Tournament in June. Officially it is called the District Qualifying Tournament, but to debaters, we call it simply "Quals."

July 4 speaker, out, standing in her field?

The Eloquent Woman

In Wyoming, people liked the change so much that the first speech given when Wyoming became a state was about suffrage. New York Times columnist Gail Collins (who was the Times's first female editorial page editor) took a look back on July 5 at how women helped to change the ways we celebrate Independence Day and other political celebrations.

What Happens When the Win Anyway Guy Loses? Part I

Speak and Deliver

Currently, I'm in D26, which is Colorado, Wyoming, and parts of Nebraska. Yesterday was a unique day for me, in terms of competing in Toastmasters at the District Conference Level. I had qualified to represent my Division in both Table Topics (Impromptu Speaking) and the International Speech Contest. It was the 21st and 22nd time I had qualified for various contests at that level in the 3 different Districts I've competed in.

Rebranding Aging as Returning to a Self Before Careerism, Bad Relationships, Wealth/Loss of Wealth

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

The wonderful secret among the inner circles of the aging is that we are joyful again, just as we were growing up in the old neighborhood or a ranch in Wyoming.  At 50, 60, 70 or more we have been able to grab hold of a self we lost to chasing careers, becoming embittered about betrayal in relationships and accumulating (losing) more money than we ever anticipated having.  We talk to one another (but maybe not with youth) the freewheeling way we did way back then.

Pocket Hands

The Arrowood Curve

Besides laughing out loud at one poster's comment about how his son says the F word more since working at a Chevy dealership, the article reminds me of a time when I had just finished an hour of coaching public speaking at a Wyoming school principles conference. A friend of mine pointed me to this blog post by a woman named Shamelle, "12 Words and Phrases that Automatically Kill Your Self Image".
