Sacred Cow #10: Web Site Addresses Are Helpful

Thoughts On Presenting And Design

When use of the Web became popular, URLs started invading slide decks. The problem with putting URLs in your slides is that though the intent may be noble, the end result is the opposite of what was intended. On the second slide, we have a list of URLs.

The Communication Blog

Third party URLs are being deleted because of their unreliability. Although this system requires extra clicks for those using a digital edition, the lack of permanence seems to have been the deciding factor in eliminating all URLs except those of the publisher. When citing a website article as a source, the organization, college, or agency rather than the URL is given.
