Elizabeth Holmes Is a "Type"

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

She's a type. The phenomenon of Elizabeth Holmes is a platitude. Over and over those who preach a miracle get heard, get supported including financially, and then get accused of being an alleged fraud. The other example of that which comes to mind, of course, is Bernie Madoff. It's a kind of witchcraft. Human nature seems to be a sitting duck for wanting to believe in the impossible. Some contend those who buy in get exactly what they deserve.

Permanent Work-at-Home - LinkedIn-Type Networks Will Surge in Influence (and other implications)

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

Soon enough the new permanent work-at-home types better get that too. Entrepreneurial types will configure new kinds with new features for different niches in different sectors. Transition to Different Type of Work - New Definition of "Retirement"

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

What that means is that "retirement" signals ending one type of work - usually a long-term full-time career - and shifting over to earning income by doing what's less demanding.  More than 70% of 50+ pre-retirees indicate they will keep working during retirement. And, among those already retired, almost 50% say they have worked or are working during retirement. Those are the findings of a new Merrill Lynch study. Here is a copy of that report.

"FBI" - Empathy for the Chris Watts' Type Murderer

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

Dick Wolf's signature is that the plots of his crime/legal dramas are ripped from the headlines.    His newest series "FBI" plays that out. In last night's episode the plot line focused on a normal-seeming father who slaughters his two young children and his wife. The motivation turns out to be a beef with his mother. She had abandoned the family when he was a boy. That meant there was no buffer between him and his physically abusive father.

"Diane Arbus" by Arthur Lubow - Beware Ambitious Artistic Types

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

But it wasn't until graduate school that I fell under the spell of a Machiavellian type who fancied himself a budding film-maker. That's when I got it: Beware ambitious artistic types. Under the guise of bohemian little lost girl, Diane Arbus was a ambitious artist. To dig deep into what made people tick, she would even set up situations which revealed what she needed to know. An instance of that was the hate party she hosted for supposed friend Pati Hill.

But essentially media types can chase their own stories. Another reason former media types could turn their noses up at ghostwriting is this: the ethics. Glut of Editorial Types - Expect It to Surge Mid-2020 (and not just in New York City)

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

Every time there's a change in ownership or power at media companies, the editorial market gets more glutted. Reductions-in-force are inevitable. Those knocked out of the box have fewer and sometimes no boxes in which to regroup. As they struggle to grab onto something, anything to make a living, overall compensation continues to plummet for the whole category. For example, some help-wanted ads on Pro Blogger and Blogging Pro currently offer 4-cents a word.

Yes, he hates the upper middle class African-American Robinson family. He targets their loved dog, preparing a poisoned burger. Perhaps proof of karma, his boozy mother eats it instead.

The July VANITY FAIR profile  of Sally Quinn by Evgenia Peretz seems less about a particular woman who was a unique human being and more about a type of woman: the female who obtained power through a man and abused it and him. All Quinn's moves, including alienating her husband's children from earlier marriages, are stereotypical.    She's not even an especially cunning player.    That's probably the reason the article seems so harsh.
