Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

In THE NEW YORK OBSERVER, John Koblin reports that the pay wall established at NEWSDAY, costing $5 monthly, has attracted only 35 subscribers.  The pay wall that THE NEW YORK TIMES plans to set up for its online news might be doomed.    The clear message this might be sending to newspapers is that they have to come up with a more breakthrough way to monetize their web operations.
