Social Media: A Cautionary Tale

Matt Eventoff

Breaking news… Social media is in fact… Social! Social Media outlets are not diaries, confidants or private/confidential conversations. The reality is that now, more than ever, social media conversations are public , or at the very least semi-public.

Social media presenting sales

The Presenter's Blog

The fields of social media, sales, and public speaking, can all benefit when they work together. If public speaking can be thought of as blending a fine champagne, then the art of crafting social media is more akin to producing a cognac, distilling your message into something intense and immediate. It teaches us to give a story legs, with reasons for the audience to send the story viral. A course in social media skills would be valuable learning for many!

"Networked Public" - Concept "audience" so pre-social media

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

Likely it was a prototype of social media which brought about the Protestant Reformation.    Martin Luther knew how to leverage the capability of the printing press, along with woodprints which didn't require literacy, to create messages which went viral.  In that same piece, THE ECONOMIST puts out there that the concept of "audience" is so dreadfully pre-social media.  Current Affairs Media Selling Web/Tech Weblogs Writin
