The Post-Gazette reports what is going on in the print newspaper niche in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In The Time of COVID-19, the print newspaper takes an additional hit. Its survival becomes even more precarious than the usual in a digital communications era. Pittsburgh Catholic has a subscription base of 83,000. But much of how it funds the newspaper comes from donations coming during masses. Those masses aren't being conducted because of social distancing.
