Zenefits - Reality bites for yet another startup high flyer

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

The question, of course, is can this high flyer even lift off again. Meanwhile that other high flyer Theranos looks like it may never have the resources to regroup. The organizational culture at Zenefits was found to be short on ethics. Buzzfeed outed how 80% of health policy sales in the state of Washington were made by unlicensed agents. After that was discovered, the startup got a new head - David Sacks.

SoftBank - Badly Tarnished Global Brand

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

That once high-flyer had touted its investments in those startups as, well, trophies. Ever since WeWork began collapsing and folks got it that Uber may never achieve profitability, shade has been thrown on the SoftBank brand. That was then. Now, the brand is going through the worst of times. The Wall Street Journal reports that sources disclose that some major investors in SoftBank have become very jittery. One big concern is this: the losses in SoftBank's Vision Fund.

Maybe in the 1% and the tiers just below that, there are still the high-flyers who influence through generosity. Language is a living institution. It continually changes. THE NEW YORK TIMES - 3Q Loss

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

Not only has THE NEW YORK TIMES not made a successful leap into the digital era.    It has not got its fixed costs down to where it can be profitable in the age of frugality.    As expected, it's reporting a 3Q loss.  There is simply no space for fat overhead in a media business. Matchmaking, Not Technology, Is Brand, Profit Potential

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

The compensation was lucrative for a brochure and flyer for an executive search firm. The value of online services like Dog Vacay comes from its ability to matchmake.  Essentially it screens and connects pet parents needing to board their animal companions with care-givers.  Those parents could care less about the technology.  However, the technology which allows the care-giver to upload photos and videos of Fido is, of course, a competitive advantage.

Leadership Communications - Say Goodbye

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

That could have been communicated through email, flyer put on the door, or even a notice in the community room.  We human beings are hardwired to get attached.
