Higher Education: Another Institution In Play During COVID-19

One group of what might be called The Abruptly Unemployed is students. As the USA Today reports, there had been millions on campus and off campus in all sorts of part-time jobs students depended on to help with rent, tuition, and/or fees. Then came the mandates about closing down businesses which were not essential. Students lost the income they needed. In some situations, such as with the University of Wisconsin at Madison, the powers that be paid the former workers any way, for a brief time.

Year of COVID-19: April 8, 2020 (flattening the curve)

No, the U.S. isn't out of the woods. But the numbers show that flattening the curve is working. Finally, there is hope to grab onto. The projected death toll has been reduced from 82,000 to about 60,000.    Meantime, here's another day in this time of COVID-19.
