Uber, Lyft Could Shut Down Service in California

As was major news, in California, San Francisco Superior Court Judge Ethan Schulman ruled Uber and Lyft had to reclassify their gig drivers as employees. The defendants have 10 days to appeal. Until then, the ruling will be put on hold. Meanwhile, though, both Uber and Lyft threaten to shut off their ride-hailing services throughout California, reports MarketWatch. For some drivers, that gig represents income which is comparable to a full-time job.
