Empowering women means paying them

Speak Schmeak

After yet another request from a women's organization asking me to speak for free, I wrote this post on Facebook. I then posted it on Instagram and Twitter, and as an article on LinkedIn. My speaking colleagues are sharing it and getting lots of comments! It's the closest thing I've ever had to a viral post. ?? Feel free to share the LinkedIn article or this post, as this message needs to be shared widely!

"Good Girls" - Riding the Rollercoaster

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

Beth was once a nice suburban wife and mother. So bland was she that her husband Dean cheated on her. Now, as she becomes more and more embedded in a life of crime she keeps upping her new game. The latest play is to contract ex-cons to pass along the counterfeit money. When they try to cheat her, she figures out how to stare them down. She gets her share of the real money, which she shares with her partners in crime Annie and Ruby.

Feel the Bern - Time Travel Back to CounterCulture

It was such a strong win in Nevada, reports The New York Times. What's obvious is that America, or at least those who vote Democrat in America, is ready for a revolution. The leader they will follow is Bernie Sanders.    His views are way left of center. The timing is perfect for that in an era in which the status quo seems tilted toward corruption, arbitrary law, and capitalism gone rogue. If only the Beatles were together to put music to the ethos of rebellion.

Madame Clairevoyant Guides You for Week of February 23, 2020

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

With the coronavirus poised to do a haircut to the world economy (and, of course, kill off too many of us), we certainly need New York Magazine's Madame Clairevoyant to get us through this week. Here are her predictions for all zodiac signs.    Essentially, she let me off the hook on being practical. I have received permission from the universe to do non-careerist stuff like daydreaming. Do enough of that, Madame Clairevoyant promises, and new doors will be opening.

Legal Media - Is It Becoming a Kind of AA-Speaker Meeting Platform?

The tone and content of Law.com's coverage of Greg Smith's sharing the saga of his alcoholism at a Husch Blackwell partner meeting are positive. The takeaway could be: outing the stigma of having been addicted to booze can encourage lawyers still in that pickle to have an Ah-Ha moment. They will embrace they are in trouble with alcoholism and get treatment. Nice scenario. When he was 33, Smith turned off his inner hard-charger and focused on recovery.

West Hartford, Connecticut, unlike nearby Hartford, was and is a thriving community. The enclave is noted for successful players in professional services, excellent public education, and globally famous healthcare facilities. It houses Jonathan's Dream , an innovative playground accessible to disabled children. The leadership behind that had been local mother and community leader Amy Barzach.
