PC Doctor, Austintown, OH - Fast Service, Straight-Talking, Discount Pricing

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

No one can be without their laptop. That's even though we might also own several other e-gadgets. Matt and his staff at PC Doctor in Austintown, Ohio, know that. They jump when we have a problems. Then they deliver the straight talk about the options, the cost for repair, and if it would be smart to just trade in the clunker for an upgrade. Earlier this week I was in the midst of a meltdown.    I swung by their shop on 3710 Mahoning Avenue.

Are you discounting when you don’t have to?

SpeakerSue Says...

Though the word “discount” cheapens the value of the your offer ( special pricing or exclusive is so much better), research shows that only 7% of organizations never discount. Do you discount as a “sales strategy” or because you don’t know how to show value proposition distinction? The more you can differentiate your service or product, the less you have to discount.

Radical Saving, Not Spending, Is Sexy - Restaurant, Fast Food, Discount Department Store Sales Down

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

Restaurants, fast foods, and discount department stores are experiencing fewer sales.   The only way those enterprises are getting us into the store to spend a few bucks is with the lure of slashed prices. Selling has become pure discounting.  In the store it's odd to encounter any women's apparel item selling for full-price.  For a major online-only bank I had researched and ghostwritten about 10 articles on radical saving.

Nordstrom - Its Prices Are Too Darn High (I swear by J.C. Penney)

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

Penney went from everyday fair pricing (LOL) to steep discounting. The prices are too high for my sense of what's a bargain. Chastened, J.C. I am there all the time. And in the long lines for the dressing room and check-out, neither I nor other shoppers kvetch. We are too happy with the bargains on brandnames. For an onsite assignment, I suited up for five days a week for under $100.

Sleepy Hollow Outlet.    That brandname, on the left side of Market Street in Boardman, Ohio, caught my eye. It was clear that to get the price for dental procedures in Mexico I would have to continue to shop around. That's how I found out about what dental discounting was below the border. Why offering promotions when you’re prospecting is stupid

SpeakerSue Says...

When you prospect based on a discount, you devalue everything you offer. Your buyer is likely to think your prices were too high to begin, so you’re rightsizing with the “discount”. Worse, they’ll think you’re a crazy poor salesperson because they didn’t need/and didn’t ask for a 25% discount and you’ve just given away the store. Top performers don’t prospect by discounting. Marketing, your Director of Revenue, or maybe even your DOS came up with a “great idea.”
