  A wannabe author puts an ad for ghostwriting, offering as compensation a share of royalties.    To bring in any royalties it has to be published by a big brandname like Sarah Palin or really dish the dirt like THE POLITICIAN.    Otherwise it's unlikely to yield any royalties at all.    This month I will find out from The Dilenschneider Group what royalties came in from AMA HANDBOOK ON PUBLIC RELATIONS

  As this PDF   informs, D2 has been hawking the book AMA HANDBOOK ON PUBLIC RELATIONS at the Javits Center.    "D2" is the moniker derived by me from the public relations agency Dilenschneider Group's association with D1, that is client Lou Dobbs.    Because of my assistance with the manuscript, by contract I receive a percentage of the royalties.  Nice way to go into the weekend.

On Amazon.com, the AMA HANDBOOK OF PUBLIC RELATIONS by Robert L. However, the fundamental public relations principles hammered in the book are solid.    What I would recommend is that The Dilenschneider Group apply them in a just-in-time manner to developments such as how Eliot Spitzer can leverage the book JOURNAL OF THE PLAGUE YEAR about him as a platform for return to public life.    I should have asked explicitly the publication date.

The AMA HANDBOOK ON PUBLIC RELATIONS, by Bob Dilenscheider is at number 673,447 on Amazon.com.    In 1991, his breakthrough book POWER AND INFLUENCE was a best-seller in public relations, quoted verbatim for years.    In 1998, his DARTNELL'S PUBLIC RELATIONS HANDBOOK was a standard reference tool.    I assumed - no, never assume - the publication would be that summer.

  For example, public relations agencies might finally be needing hands-on help with social media.    Eventually we have more business than we can handle and have to hire contract help.   And, believe me, we don't know which will hit in the sense of pulling in new business, piling up the royalties, and enhancing a brandname.   If hope could pack a voodoo wallop, 2010 will turn out to be a very good year.
