Too Many iPhone “Developers”

Thoughts On Presenting And Design

Yesterday, I came across this gem on Daring Fireball where John Gruber discusses the change in the rules for developers: My reading of this new language is that cross-compilers, such as theFlash-to-iPhone compiler in Adobe’s upcoming Flash Professional CS5 release, are prohibited. This also bans apps compiled using MonoTouch — a tool that compiles C# and.NET apps to the iPhone. They’re not targeting the crowd that shops based on a laundry list of tech specs.

What’s worse than a verbal tic?

Public Speaking Advice and Commentary

If you listen to your colleagues speak during a typical day, you’ll soon compile a list of your own.    I’ll list the winners in a subsequent blog post.  A few weeks back I did a blog post on verbal tics and how to cure them.    But just as important for speakers – and more insidious – are weasel words.    They subtly undercut your authority as a speaker and weaken your impact.
