IndieReader, Byline Disappeared, No Response From Founder Amy Edelman

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

I was checking the links on both published content for my byline and for that ghostwritten for clients. I noticed that the IndieReader article no longer had my byline. It could have been in the small print of a contract I might have signed with IndieReader that the byline is disappeared after a certain period of time.

That full-length print book for our own byline: Not so easy for ghostwriters

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

Today I struggled through the galleys for my first full-length print book which is entirely for my byline.    What we write for our own byline is done as a hail-mary pass.    Sure, my very own book could hit big, bigger than anything I've done for clients.    Writing for our own bylines, it's only us relative nobodies.   It was difficult and it felt strange.    See, I am used to being a ghostwriter.

Ghostwriters: The client hated the first draft, can we fix it?

Jane Genova: Speechwriter - Ghostwriter

The voice of the author whose name will be the byline is becoming increasingly idiosyncratic.  Last week, three clients hated the first draft I turned in.  It's a changing age.    With it styles of writing are also shifting.    No longer are there set templates we ghostwriters can assume we can follow in doing a book, article, or even blog assignment.
