We speak at conferences where an audience member is torn between three different breakout sessions, and might leave in the middle to catch parts of each. I admit it; I get a little bent out of shape at the title "World's Best" or "World Champion" when it's thrown around willy-nilly.

Getting Hired to Speak: What's Their Why?

1: From workshops to keynotes Because of tight budgets and more interest from nonprofessional speakers, most concurrent sessions and teaching seminars at association conventions and trade shows are filled with vendors, members and other nonpaid experts. Therefore, to get the big fees – or any fee at all – you must compete in the keynote or general-session market. A keynote speech and a session workshop are two completely different animals.

Hash tags on each session as well as the event might help. But I think more of the business networking happens during the event, in between the sessions, than at dinners and tweetups. How about doing a session of the week with multiple blog posts, video archives, discussions?
