  Why else is "America's Most Wanted" so effective in catching criminals, Craigslist users taking the time to expose scams, and "Judge Judy" the most popular program on daytime TV.    Aside from the royalties I'm earning and the congratulations on Facebook from school chums and enemies, I don't see myself creating value.  It got that bad.

It's rare that a book author will become wealthy, at least not through the royalties from books. Also, increasingly it's irrelevant whether the books are produced by a publisher such as HarperCollins or a self-publisher like iUniverse.com.

   Not exactly beach reading but pre-recession in America the self-improver, lots of professionals would have stuck it in their suitcases, intending to use part of their time-off to learn something.    America is still the land of the self-improver but not at any price.  Epilogue: For assisting some with Bob Dilenschneider's book AMA HANDBOOK ON PUBLIC RELATIONS, I receive royalties
