In addition, try to link to more related stories on your site or blog from the original article. You’ll be picked up in the blogosphere and even by traditional reporters who are always looking for news stories. Remember, news releases are for much more than getting press; they are for building key links and for helping bloggers and influencers find your site. This is an easy and free way of syndicating your news stories that will extend your newsletter subscriber base dramatically. When you publish a monthly print or electronic newsletter that targets an important audience segment, you probably invest heavily in generating the content that will make this newsletter relevant and valuable to its readers.

A subscriber wrote me, “I have a question to which I have received as many answers as people I have asked: What content goes on the last slide? For my webinars, I often have a special offer and link to a page on my site where attendees can get the special offer. Do I end with ‘Thank You!,’ 8217; ‘Questions/Comments?,’

The Best from the Speaking Pro Central Community

Speaking Pro Central is a new website which aggregates content from many different speaking and presenting sites. Tony Karrer is the driving force behind the site. Speaking Pro Central is particularly useful if you don’t want to subscribe to all the speaking and presenting blogs - but just want to be able to find the content you want when you want it. First, there was alltop , now there’s Speaking Pro Central . What’s special about it is that it has a clever search feature that allows you to find the top posts “according to social signals”
Some presentations have been viewed over a half million times. This page was last modified 23:20, 19 June 2008 by howto_admin .
The site says that it allows moderation, although it doesn’t show how it’s done. If you’re interested in that, subscribe to my RSS feed or follow me on Twitter and I’ll let you know when it’s ready. Presenting while people are tweeting is challenging – but also adds a new dimension to the presentation experience for your audience. Gradually tools are being developed to make it easier for you as the presenter to manage the backchannel.
I was intrigued by a recent contest being run by SpeakerNetNews (BTW, if you are in the speaking business and aren’t subscribing to this weekly e-mail newsletter, you are missing out big time – go to www.SpeakerNetNews.com and subscribe right now). They were inspired by a web site that collects six word stories and asked subscribers to submit a six word presentation. Six words?!? Am I joking?

I've come up with example after example over the past couple years of how having a simple, yet professional website attracts business better than a complicated flashy site. Again, this month I've got an awesome example of a site that for a very tiny investment has brought me an enormous return. That site is [link] This month it got in the very prestigious section of "Inc. Magazine" called "Best of the Web." Not only did it get in the section, it got the highest rating of all the other sites, some of which were backed by extremely large corporations.

Having a speaking page has given me lots in the way of evidence that I’m doing okay when it comes to presenting. Social Proof I also use my LinkedIn profile to get recommendations from people who’ve seen me speak, and I list professional speaker as one of my “jobs” on the site.
