43 Folders Home Search About How to Use 43f Time, Attention, and Creative Work . Anyhow, here’s what I’ve been learning so far, starting with the giants on whose shoulders I’d love to stand. Ratings of top social media sites for business use
For listening/research purposes, Google search and alerts dominate with Twitter and Yahoo search coming not too far behind. Yahoo search at 35%
YouTube is now the 2nd most popular search engine. If you’ve been dragging your feet on social media, it’s time to take both of those feet and jump right in. The just released study on business use of social media from the folks at Business.com is must reading for content marketers who are active, tentative or hesitant about social media.

StockExpert seems similiar to iStockPhoto when I do a search - lots of the same or similiar images. They are all good quality and the pricing is good (or looking better as sites like iStockPhoto slowly raise their rates). The search engine is intuitive and gives more precise results than some others - this may be because StockExpert was acquired by Jupiter Images who injected much of there meta tagging and search technology.
One new feature is the selection of videos - which will be more important with the release of PowerPoint 2010 and the whole world goes video crazy.

Having a speaking page has given me lots in the way of evidence that I’m doing okay when it comes to presenting. Social Proof I also use my LinkedIn profile to get recommendations from people who’ve seen me speak, and I list professional speaker as one of my “jobs” on the site.
