I've taken to creating blog posts with useful links after my major addresses-- they become the "handout" and the context, all in one. Who watches: With a webcam on a laptop, a cellphone or a Flip camera or other ultralight camcorder, your audience can record and upload your remarks within minutes--or choose to livestream it. Speakers who address audiences with "just between us in this room" remarks, beware. And for how long: The instant gratification, speed and variety of information available in social media can't be matched in most formal speeches. Public speaking comes with a lot of assumptions baked into it--forms, formats and formalities that have been used over and over again for centuries.

I am still searching for a record of his words on this occasion . 1922 Birthday of Lane Kirkland, US labor leader: “If hard work were such a wonderful thing, surely the rich would have kept it to themselves.” From March 7 through March 13:

You can get a feel for her style and her message in this Ignite presentation below which was recorded at an Ignite Phoenix event. (You can find the video here too on Pam's speaking page.)
Ignite : a great implementation of the short-form presentation I love the Ignite format — 20 slides, advanced automatically after 15 seconds (total: 5 minutes). The point of an Ignite talk is not to rush through the topic or to dumb it down, but rather to work within the constraints to illuminate and illustrate the essence of your idea and of your story.

The first thing Ellen noticed was that she was frequently prompted to record the session -- a terrific feature, but we didn't need to record our meeting. (I'm Author Ellen Finkelstein and I were collaborating on a PowerPoint presentation design and script the other day. Ellen was in Iowa.

And why do we talk so much about presentations that bore us? Inviting investigators to record you, then later expressing dismay at being recorded while under investigation? Use emotion to connect to your audience. It's important. Got it!

Record audio and video of interviews for your newsletter for later repurposing. Many of us would rather watch or listen to critical content.
When you publish a monthly print or electronic newsletter that targets an important audience segment, you probably invest heavily in generating the content that will make this newsletter relevant and valuable to its readers. That is obviously critical.
