If your first line or two of humor bombs, a speaker may start to interpret the inner motivations of the audience. I’m not talking about a blinding light, but enough light so that a listener can easily see others in the audience…and so that the speaker can see the audience. While you will catch some things, if you want to become a great speaker, you should review it with a speech coach. Soon, you will become a great public speaker. If you can do those four things - you will see a dramatic improvement in your speaking skills and you will see the responses in your audience as well. One of the toughest parts about communication is knowing what you do right and what you do wrong. Working with a speech coach is important and can help you improve - but if you really want to see what you are doing there is a simple step -- use a video

Now I have learned that I typically speak at an average of 80-100 words per minute when presenting in public and so I can quickly calculate how many words I need to write i.e. Some books quote the normal speaking rate as around 125 words per minute but remember that there is a big difference between normal conversation and public speaking.
