We’ve previously discussed their image sharpening software that can take a grainy security camera image and enlarge it to full HD. It’s “a laser projector that turns any flat surface into an auto-focused and image-adjusted 10-inch touchscreen with WVGA resolution thanks to its laser- (not LED) based pico projection engine dubbed HLP (holographic laser projection) and infrared touch-sensing system.” Obviously If you’re looking for the future of presentation technology, you only need look as far as CSI Miami and its futuristic rainbow-lit headquarters.

PowerPoint presentations given to a live audience usually involve the computer being attached to a projector. And sometimes the technical issues of getting the computer and projector to cooperate are the downfall of the presenter... I hooked up the projector (via VGA or DVI cable). - Here is what I hear a lot: - I have a great laptop! -

This also happens most often when the computer is hooked up to a projector, where the screen resolution is reduced to the projector resolution (eg. my monitor is 1900x1200 but most projectors are lower at 1280x1024 or 1024x768). If you have access to a computer using the other software before you even arrive on site, do your dry run then so that you’re even more prepared even sooner.  One thing I didn’t do that hit me out of nowhere was consider the less than optimal quality of the projector.  When I got to my example of a good corporate template, the template’s and the projector’s shortcomings became quite clear.  At the place where I earn my living, we’ll sometimes have someone in the office give a “brown bag” presentation during the lunch hour.  The idea

This also gets others motivated. There must be a better way than using the overhead projector Tufte refers to it as "a trapezoid strip show" because the shape of the projected image is distorted, and people often use the technique of revealing only one line of the image at a time. This is not about interface, but it helps for your representation. Edward R.

Ive given talks where projectors die midway through, Ive tried to give slideless talks (which always will be marked down slightly by audiences, it is in their nature) 6) Take questions at the end. 20) Dont give speeches to people who dont really want to be there. Rules of thumb: 1) 60hz at 1024x768 works on every projector. 6) Have copies on usb sticks in pdf, ppt and, Ego Food Healthy, organic food for Chris DiBonas ego, so it can grow up big and strong. became rather agitated and downright offended, while at Sony Systems Engineering, to attend engineering design review meetings for new broadcast television systems design customers, and the presenter would place his PowerPoint slide-show on the projector screen, and the count was: Slide # 1 of 150 slides! Slide software helped speakers and their audiences get away from the lumbering and cumbersome overhead projector. Because the software was so easy, and had so many fun elements, it took over. Slide software is not going away, so we need to commit to using it better than ever. In my conversations with business speakers of all kinds, about 85% casually interchange the name 'Power Point (deck)' with the words 'speech' or 'presentation.' There's nothing cool or new about Power Point anymore.
John Meyer, the president of Ventura Software, was the keynote speaker. And he shared with us his goals for the software, but never once used words like “proactive,” “vision,” “innovative,” or any other buzzword that sounds good but means nothing at all. One year later, Xerox had taken over the software. One of the finest live presentations I have ever witnessed featured a man and a microphone. It was in 1989, the debut event of the CorelWORLD User Conference, the precursor to the PowerPoint Live User Conference .
In some cases it is used as little more than a notice board, or as a convenient close-up projector screen. It may be a self-contained piece of software, and there is a plethora of open source and free examples from which to choose online. The white board is a ubiquitous piece of hardware that you find in classrooms and board rooms all around the world. In other situations it is used (rarely) as a highly interactive aid to group work and decision-making.
