PPT Live continues through Wednesday, but I am flying back to Los Angeles for a large project today. But I consider myself very fortunate to enjoy time with the other PowerPoint MVPs and some of the Microsoft PowerPoint program managers.

As Jackson said to Rabbi Shmuley Boteach , the unofficial rabbi to the stars in Los Angeles, "I want people to love me...because In the course of four compressed days at PowerPoint Live, we develop tight bonds with people whom we have just met and it is easy to regard these types of friendships as more than they are. The passing of legend Michael Jackson has been felt in every part of society's fabric, so it should come as no surprise that the community of presentation professionals can reflect on his life and take something from his experiences.

Before you use powerpoints, really think it through In most cases, panels should focus on the discussion and interaction between the panelists. Most panels are such that each panelist will give a 15-20 minute powerpoint briefing, all panelists one right after the other. All the audience needs to hear are the speakers’ names, companies and titles, and let’s get on with the show. The participants represented a wide cross-section of professions and interests, and included such luminaries as Michael Deutch of MindJet , Nat Robinson of SlideRocket , Scott Schwertly of Ethos3 , Rick Altman of PowerPoint Live and Ric Bretschneider of Microsoft.
was so inspired by the event, I thought we should get a little BarCamp going on down in my ‘hood - Hollywood and Los Angeles- where they know a little something about storytelling with words and pictures.
I decided to take a little last-minute trip Saturday to San Francisco to visit the PresentationCamp SF , and was I ever glad I did!

This cord came in handy in March when I was a speaker at a conference in Los Angeles and I used the cord to help out a panel session where the laptop wasn’t close to where the panel was seated. When I travel to deliver customized workshops or speak at conferences, I carry the normal equipment for a presenter: my laptop, presentation remote and projector if required. In today’s tip, I want to share with you a few of the other pieces of equipment I carry that come in handy when travelling.

There was the usual mix of engaging speakers, dreary speakers, and horrible PowerPoint. Tea," aka Mark Ukra, the passionate and slightly eccentric owner of the Tea Garden and Herbal Emporium in Los Angeles, gave an inspiring talk on "converting the coffee culture" on Friday. Over the past weekend we attended the World Tea Expo (see posts here and here from last year when I was a speaker there). So much better in Vegas than Hotlanta.
