In a Mad Men segment about the creation of the Kodak Carousel the roots of content marketing shine through when lead character, Don Draper, makes it clear that building a brand is all about storytelling and engaging the consumer–and not about technology or the company itself.
Way back in the 1960s, Kodak dominated the photography world in ways that seem almost unimaginable today. Their technology was leading edge. Plenty Has Changed from 1960 to 2010 but What Is Most Important Has Stayed the Same.

Clearly the presentation matters. Washoku is guided by simple principles that lead to harmony and balance in terms of both nutrition and aesthetics (this is explained well in a wonderful book simply called Washoku ). This is related to insuring good nutrition and it also leads to a visually appealing display. There are other guiding principles A few years ago, on a late Autumn afternoon, I was walking with a friend along Tetsugaku no Michi (Philosopher's Road) in the city of Kyoto. After our walk we stopped in a local restaurant for a traditional Japanese meal.

Ignite short-form presentations are a little bit faster and a little bit shorter than the Pecha Kucha style (which is also good), and this often leads to tighter talks. The point of an Ignite talk is not to rush through the topic or to dumb it down, but rather to work within the constraints to illuminate and illustrate the essence of your idea and of your story.
