Whenever people find out that I am a coach for professional speakers, they always want to tell me about a speaker that they experienced.
It’s rare that they remember the speaker’s name.
But frequently they will tell me a story that the speaker told and we’ll be able to piece together the identity of that person.
Often, when we leave a speech, we’re feeling like a rock star and think that they will never forget us!! But the truth of the matter is that by next month or next week, they most likely will have forgotten our name!

By 1977, I was earning $175 as a speaker outside of the hairstyling industry. With that, I decided to go to my first National Speakers Association (NSA) convention. left my first NSA convention believing that perhaps I could be a speaker!
One of the best decisions I made was to view professional speaking as Q. When did you first start speaking?

calendars If you’re website says ‘hire me, I’m a speaker’ you need to go back to the drawing board with new determination!

Most professional speakers become SME's, or so-called Subject Matter Experts, in certain fields, and are able to offer these topics as either a keynote or breakout session speech. I've looked at speakers' websites, and have come across more than a few who list at least a dozen or more topics. I've decided to brand myself as the expert on speaking skills for health care and related professionals and an expert on working online for dietitians. They point to accomplished speakers like Obama and say if he can go from virtual unknown to President in a few short years without PowerPoint to deliver his message, so can you.
The question to ask yourself whenever you’re contemplating whether to use PowerPoint or Keynote is whether a visual will help the audience understand and remember your content better.
And audiences love speakers Whenever I read a top 10 presentation or public speaking tips post, I often find at least one tip that makes me cringe. And I’m not talking about the obviously stupid presentation
