would love to see more tools available which work within the most common slideware – PowerPoint and Keynote. Both Keynote and PowerPoint have add-ins which allow you to automatically send a tweet when you click on a slide. The Keynote add-in looks a lot more robust.
Presenting while people are tweeting is challenging – but also adds a new dimension to the presentation experience for your audience. Gradually tools are being developed to make it easier for you as the presenter to manage the backchannel.

In my post 10 tools for presenting with Twitter , I lamented that there was no easy-to-use way of posting tweets from within PowerPoint. has now created an add-in for PowerPoint 2004 and 2007 which does just that. Go to Timo’s PowerPoint Twitter page to download the add-in. Timo Elliott of SAPWeb2.0 It’s called AutoTweet .

With all the recent emphasis on the design of your PowerPoints (Keynote for the Mac), it's time to revisit the fact that your visuals are NOT your presentation. think that the emphasis on PowerPoints (we'll call them PP for brevity) is because 2008 WAS a great year for great design with the publication of Garr Reynolds' book "Presentation Zen" and Nancy Duarte's "slide:ology" (both still best sellers on Amazon.) You and your Point of View are the centerpiece. I

In the course of the past two weeks, I have read three separate writings that hail Apple Keynote as the antidote to Death by PowerPoint and a savior to the presentation community.
Let me begin by saying that I have absolutely nothing against Keynote. like many of its creative transitions and its direct export to video is vastly superior to PowerPoint's deficient offerings. Please.

It is imperative that presenters get training on the basics of communicating a clear message and presentation skills in order to understand that PowerPoint should just be a tool to support their message, not the message itself. Presenters not being prepared The second most commented area was presenters who were not prepared either on the topic or the slides. The second issue is with the templates designed by professionals who are good at design but don’t know how to create a proper PowerPoint template. I’ve already reported on what audiences find most annoying based on the survey completed by 548 people.

Will PowerPoint presentations make the kitschy cut? After all, there's a certain black velvet quality to many PowerPoint presentations... ...as well as to most Keynote presentations. Oh, let's face it. There's no sense having a clipart-y, cluttered, bullet point-y, totally 1990's Microsoft-kitsch PowerPoint presentation if you What's Kitsch? Kitsch is a black velvet painting.

Powerpoint and Keynote both are very capable of this media feature, but what you design with sound is that which makes the experience unique for your audience.

Since a presentation can exist without visuals, utilizing visuals (like PowerPoint slides) to serve as a visual backdrop will enhance your presentation. A knowledgeable presenter understands that they aren't a complement to their slides. So many presenters look at PowerPoint and Keynote and see a "presentation." As a In the past few weeks I've been sitting in on a number of presentations. While we continue to try and improve the quality and effectiveness of presentations worldwide (go big or go home, right?),

If you’ve read any of my previous posts , you’ll know that the cornerstone to an effective PowerPoint or Keynote presentation is idea of “Simplicity.” If you must, break up the bullet points onto multiple slides Sometimes it is required that you leave the text unaltered, or maybe you’re redesigning a PowerPoint for someone else and can't personally ensure that enough preparation and practice will be done. Keeping your slides as simple and image-based as possible will keep your audience visually engaged and will help them recall your message more easily. Filling slides
