Here are 15 tips in no particular order . (1) Keep an analog scrapbook of design examples you find. Getting off the grid and freeing up your mind (and pockets) is necessary too. (12) Make it a point to watch TED videos on line, especially those related to design and creativity ; many of the presenters also use very effective, well-designed visuals. Kaizen (??) means "improvement" — "kai" (?)

20 tips for better conference speaking ~ 16 February 2009 ~ View from on stage as I’m preparing to speak at An Event Apart New Orleans 2008. Just last week I saw Museo (free!) Bring a lightweight jacket on board and you’re set for just about any temperature, freeing you to focus on polishing your presentation. (Side I’ll be straight up with you: I don’t profess to be an expert speaker. I’ve had my share of presentations that have been total flops, along with some very successful ones.

Today I’d like to discuss another source that is available free of charge in most cases. Governments have staff who take photographs as part of their jobs, and many times these photos are quite good. In almost every workshop that I do, someone asks where you can get great photos to use in your presentation. I
