Even better, Seth dispels the myth that only people with artistic skills can create effective PowerPoint presentations (from what I could tell, Seth designed his slides using Keynote on his Mac). Today is Sunday and I’ve clocked 6 hours of Keynote and I’m ok with that. Keynote doesn’t get in my way and Keynote doesn’t piss me off, so I’m taking Lots of it. This is basic Keynote blocking and tackling.

The original Keynote Kung-fu article describes how to set up and use Keynote for the first time, but once you’ve done a couple of presentations, you’re going to want more. How To Not Throw Up and Out Loud Being taken apart by the execs because they could smell you weren’t prepared. The slide deck you loved that the audience ignored.

And you don't need Keynote or OpenOffice, either. Well, much lighter than the gazillions of options PowerPoint and Keynote and Open Office pack into their software, anyway! Want to use a FlickR image into your presentation? Each of the cloudware apps I used let you search and add unique FlickR images with the same ease you'd have inserting Yes, you can design a PowerPoint presentation without using PowerPoint. With speedy internet access, you can design a presentation "in the cloud". What are Presentation Design Cloud Apps?

Encouraging more flickr and Flip video usage will help. Just coming from #SXSW, there was a wide range of presentation quality - some panels and keynotes were top-notch, clear, engaging and useful; while others were sub-par, unfocused, boring and of limited use.
