Because associations can get free speakers for the concurrent sessions, many state and regional associations only pay for keynoters, general sessions and wind-down speakers. Ideally, you would plan for audience participation exercises to be roughly evenly spaced through the presentation. However, having genuine, as opposed to contrived, exercises is more important. Ask people to stand up and move to a space in the room (you’ll need a cleared space free of tables and chairs). Post-it exercise.

In preparation for her talk she asked me if there would be a way to reproduce an exercise called “Speaker & Audience Mapping that she usually leads in the slideology workshops. The exercise goes like this: the audience picks one of a dozen different audience types (eg. Last month Nancy Duarte spoke at Web2.0 Expo Attendees.

Besides relieving stress and keeping you fit, exercise seems to stimulate ideas. Getting off the grid and freeing up your mind (and pockets) is necessary too. Kaizen (??) means "improvement" — "kai" (?) means change/make better, and "zen" (?) We can call this “Personal Kaizen.” Keep moving forward. 3) Get out of your comfort zone.
