5) People buy into compelling stories and issues that affect them directly, not your talking points and data. Tell engaging stories: A personal, engaging story is hard to interrupt and cuts through the Twitter noise vs data and hard arguments, which are easy to second guess. Imagine being able to  go back to a presentation you made 10 years ago to see how people really felt about it. Loosely speaking, the left handles data, facts, and analysis. Compelling imagery can help you make an emotional and persuasive case: but intelligent people will also require data and analysis for their decision making process. They're creating and commenting on blogs, and voting on Digg or StumbleUpon. This is Your Brain on PowerPoint.  Our brains have 2 lobes.
