would love to see more tools available which work within the most common slideware – PowerPoint and Keynote. Both Keynote and PowerPoint have add-ins which allow you to automatically send a tweet when you click on a slide. The Keynote add-in looks a lot more robust. Presenting while people are tweeting is challenging – but also adds a new dimension to the presentation experience for your audience. Gradually tools are being developed to make it easier for you as the presenter to manage the backchannel.
Twitter has become a pretty great tool to help with socializing at conferences. There is also an interesting effect that people who are not attending still hear quite a bit about the conference and have some level of tangential participation. There's also a bit of risk as exemplified by - TechKnowledge09 - Another Conference that Missed the Social Opportunity . Here are a few of the things we've been doing Twitter as Social Chat At both DevLearn and TechKnowledge , we created a hashtag and created a specific Twitter account that was the hub. Cliff Atkinson ’s keynote empowered us to be evangelists for better presentations: better results, a better story, better graphics (in that order). And the conference was lots of fun, too! The first part of this post is here . He gave suggestions for presentation professionals who need to convince presenters to improve their presentations:
The meetings and conference business has taken hits from the economy and Joe Biden telling everyone he wants his family to stay off airplanes.  0160; So this is a good time to take a moment to consider the conference business in general.  0160; Following are my three radical suggestions for improving meetings and conferences.  0160; But, much like the overall economy, the business is slowly turning around, or at least slowing its decline.  0160; What could it do better when it comes roaring back in 2010?
