Chicks and Cats: Guys and gals, girls and boys, ladies and gentleman–this is a beatnik hold-over that became verboten with the rise of the women’s liberation movement known as “women’s lib,” but was in full bloom at festivals like Woodstock.   Some of which include the Summer of Love concert, Woodstock Ventures and Sony Music’s creation of Woodstock.com , and the movie entitled Taking Woodstock . HONORABLE MENTION (in random order)   - I’ve been on hold so long I forgot why I called.   - I personalized a song for every call. That is my annoying ex-wife’s.   - I sure hope that’s Decaf!   - I don’t care that little Billy is going to his concert tonight…I’ll get fired if this ringtone goes off in the office.   - They’re making me name that tune before they’ll transfer me to the help desk.    - I feel like I’m on a reality TV show called “So You Think You Can Hold?” It’s time for the July Cartoon Caption Contest results.

I was reminded of the power of endings when I went to another Red Rocks concert a few weeks back--this time it was David Gray (with Aimme Mann and Beth Orton). And not in the style of the middle of a David Gray concert where the prevalent emotion must surely be "will this ever end?" Last night we saw Rufus Wainwright in concert at small local theater. Would a stagehand have to sit off to the side, holding it all night? If you think his voice resonates on a CD, you should hear him live, solo, with just his piano or guitar as accompaniment. Absolutely gorgeous. About halfway through

There has been a concerted effort to change the name — not easy, and largely out of any business or industry’s control.  The same holds true in every organization — open lines of communication help mitigate disasters. Monday and Tuesday were voluminous with brewing crises — one of the biggest political party switches in history, a new potential pandemic, and a decision to fly Air Force One over Ground Zero — all offered valuable, and contrasting, examples of communicating during an early stage of a crisis, and just how critical getting out in front with a central message is.
