Whether enticing investors, recruiting volunteers, or raising awareness in the community, thought leaders present information in some form or another at every step along the way. Duarte has a very special spot in our heart for cause-related work . Aside from allowing us to think outside the box and reach a global audience, it makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside, which is always nice.

And yet to build communities in which people advance one another’s learning may be more easily said than done.
An online learning community might be brought together through web-technology to develop skills and form new concepts. successful community is recognisable by high levels off activity, motivation and spontaneity. In my childhood, school was rather like the public library; you sat alone in silence until your work was done. More contemporary views of learning and information favour collaboration, connection and social intercourse.

Here's a new resource for speakers: Public Speaking Community , motto " one speech at a time ," is a new online community for "people who want to become better public speakers." As with any online community, this one will work best if you participate. I'm delighted to say that this blog is among those featured on the new site , which also includes a question-and-answer section where you can crowd-source solutions to your speaking issues, as well as video and lots of advice from public-speaking bloggers, all in one place. As a kickoff to the book I'm working on about making presentations fun, I've started a Speak Schmeak community on Ning where we can play, write, draw, post videos and engage in discussion about what makes presentations fun! This is my first time with this kind of site, so if you have ideas for enhancing it, please let me know. Kuler is a web-based color tool from Adobe that has thousands of community-generated color themes from which you can search, but the best thing about Kuler is that you can easily make your own themes. After you decide which mood is the best fit, you can then save it to your account, share it with the community if you like, and even download it as an Adobe Swatch Exchange file. Although scores of good books on color theory have been written — many even for non-designers — most working professionals just do not have the time to delve deeply into a study of the complexities of using color .
