No newsflash, the lion's share of us who didn't also pile on a teaching certificate had a tough time landing a first job.  0160; The more significant variable is what we can do and a track record to demonstrate that.  It was like going to law school, at least in those days before higher education became so expensive and entry-level jobs so scarce: Majoring in English.  0160; A lot of us did it, and mostly because we didn't have a clear alternative.

I would say that speakers should use this phenomenon and have a slide with a tinyurl near the end of where people can find the slides, and if you’re confident in your ability to present (and it’s being recorded), a tinyurl of where people can find a video recording of your presentation.
