Just yesterday I returned from California where we celebrated her life.  As an avid horseback rider, seeing-eye dog trainer, and pet owner, she was passionate about animals.  The great thing about writing your own blog (as opposed to writing for a company’s blog) is your ability to be 100% transparent.  While I reserve this space for all things related to presenting, I can and will at times speak about things going on in my personal life.

Whereas Lance is used to riding for the win, having his entire team support him, he just finished the Tour of California in the role of a domestique, a helper to teammate and Tour winner Levi Leipheimer. As speakers, we are often concerned with appearing perfect and flawless to our audiences. While we're focusing on ourselves and trying so hard to come across as witty, clever, brilliant and smooth, our egos are getting in the way of serving the audience.
