THE NEW YORK TIMES ran a series exploring the value of advanced degrees. 0160; After I became a doctoral candidate in the humanities and couldn't nail a tenure-track college-teaching position, I was hammered by friends, family, those with easily marketable advanced degrees, and prospective employers about my "poor decision." Of course, like many with advanced degrees I have been able to recycle the knowledge base, critical thinking skills and communications strengths 0160; Over 600 comments came in. 0160; Some of them are reprinted here.

In PowerPoint 2007 the document properties are divided into 2 views. Yesterday's post showed the new properties view that is easy to use, integrated into the user interface and displays the personal information that can be sent out with a presentation.
But the 'old' file properties are still there.

Prepare in advance
Preparing in advance when you are not under a deadline helps you see what you're doing very clearly.
Just got a call from a company who was given five days notice to prepare for a presentation to win a contract. Given the demands in the marketplace today, perhaps you don't get even 5 days to prepare.

Many I’ve collected from my website, but about 10% are new, never published on my site.
The ebook is over 240 pages — I didn’t realize that I had that much content on my site!
