Empower Others to Reach Out - One thing I’ve yet to do for this event, but will ask soon, is I ask speakers to make sure to reach out to their constituent bases and invite people who might want to hear them speak. Logistically, they require the same things most conferences run on: great speakers, relevant exhibitors and sponsors, and eager attendees.

He has twice appeared in the finals of the Toastmasters Championship of Public speaking, finishing 3rd in the world in 2006. Public speaking is all about YOU. Despite what you may read elsewhere, the most important person at your next speaking engagement is not the CEO, the meeting planner, the audience or even that one person whose life you might change forever. While I'm recovering from illness this week, I'm going to refer back to some of my own posts and posts I've enjoyed by other bloggers, and bring in a guest blogger or two...beginning beginning with my pal Rich

In 2006, I wrote an article about the power of the mind to create fear from thin air as well as to control and reframe it, in reference to a friend's fear of speaking and my own post traumatic stress disorder I experienced after a car accident. When I tell my clients that they can indeed control their anxiety about speaking, I'm not just spewing theories I've read somewhere. I was reminded yesterday of the intense power of the mind - to cure hiccups. When I was in high school, I had a friend who would offer me an imaginary spoonful of sugar to cure my hiccups, sugar being

The 2007 presentation is a must-watch video - the finale will blow your mind. This one is his presentation from 2006, when he first introduced this technology for manipulating and animating data, and he shows even more versatility of the software than in the 2007 video (watch when the bubbles split into individual countries from about 9:50 to 11:44 into the video - this part of the presentation is particularly fascinating).
