0160; The United States Supreme Court denied the request of the Diocese of Bridgeport, filed on a paid-fee basis by its law firm Mayer Brown, to keep the discovery documents from the settlement of clergy sex abuse cases sealed. 0160; This ruling from the US SC, reports Dave Altimari in THE HARTFORD COURANT, "also appears to signal that he court will not take up the diocese's appeal of a Connecticut State Supreme ruling that the documents should indeed be public." This could be the tipping point for both the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bridgeport in Connecticut as well as the entire institution of Roman Catholicism in America and around the world.

For those that don’t know the story, in 2004, Connie Culp, a 40 year old waitress from Ohio, was shot in the face at point blank range with a shotgun, by her husband. Connie was the recipient of the first facial transplant in the United States, and bravely faced cameras for the first time yesterday. Click here to view the embedded video.
Thousands of messages appear every second, and nearly every one of them disappears just as quickly.

When he spoke at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, Obama’s memorable moment came when he said:
“There’s not a liberal America and a conservative America — there’s the United States of America.” This past week, President Obama was criticized for not making his inauguration speech more memorable.
There were certainly quotable sections, but not the clear “hook” that Obama has been known for.

In stark contrast to the 43rd President of the United States of America, President Barack Obama spoke clearly, concisely, and confidently to the millions of people listening to him deliver his inaugural address.
In an effort to appear more “presidential”, Obama had been using fewer gestures and downplaying the energy that marked his speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention.
